Several area wrestlers were ranked in the latest Class B state wrestling poll. Mason Garfield of Wolf Point ranks third at 205 pounds. The Poplar wrestlers won the great majority of their matches during a mixer held in Forsyth on Saturday, Jan. 22. Highlights included Kameron Reum with a 3-0 record and Jacob Berger going 2-0 for the day. Posting 1-0 marks were Jazmin Gorder, Angelina Escarcega, Jase Frederick and Precious Keiser. Gage Berg had a record of 3-1 during the mixer.

Frazer’s girls’ basketball squad fell against Scobey, 5118, on Friday, Jan. 21. The Bearcubs were only behind by a 12-11 margin after the first quarter of action. The Lustre Christian Lions swept basketball games against Dodson on Saturday, Jan. 15. Lustre’s boys posted an 8244 victory over the Coyotes. Poplar’s girls’ basketball squad dropped conference games against Malta and Glasgow during the weekend. Poplar’s girls’ basketball team lost to a strong Malta squad, 78-36, on Friday, Jan. 14. Malta gained a 22-4 advantage in the first quarter. The Indians closed the margin to 34-22 during the second quarter. The M-ettes then struck for 27 points in the third quarter for a 61-30 lead.
