Runners Place In Moran Memorial
A good turnout of participants ran and walked in the Justice for Stan: Stanley Moran Jr. Memorial 5K and onemile walk/run in Wolf Point on Friday, July 11.
Medals were presented to the three runners in both the male and female divisions.
Wolf Point’s Peyton Summers finished first in the men’s division with a time of 16:09.
Taking second was Glasgow’s Jacob Zanker at 17:55.

Runners Earn Honors In Human Stampede
Northeast Montana Health Services sponsored the Human Stampede run in Wolf Point on Saturday morning.
Peyton Summers was the overall winner with a time of 16:00 in the 5K race.
John Wetsit placed second in the men’s division. Reilly Rees earned third in the men’s division.

Summers Selected For Montana Mile
Wolf Point’s Peyton Summers has been selected to run in this year’s Montana Mile at the Big Sky State Games on Friday, July 18.
Summers, who competes for Dawson Community College in Glendive, is one of 12 males entered for the race. He is a past high school state champion in cross country and track.
This is the second time that Summers will run in the Montana Mile.

Golfers Turn Out For Pink Tournament
The team consisting of Brock Copenhaver, LaFon Copenhaver, Freedom Crawford and Latoya Holen won top honors at this year’s Tough Enough To Wear Pink golf tournament held at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course on Thursday. The winning score was 31.
Placing second with a score of 32 was the team featuring Lukas Young, Gaige Bushman, Landon Young and Karsten Miller.

Participants Compete During Wolf Point’s Skate Jam
A good turnout of experienced and new skaters attended the skate jam and beginners clinic at the Wolf Point Skate Park at the end of June.
The event was organized by the Caŋku program, a Native youth community project.
Liddell Small won for the longest grind.

Everyone who participated in butt boarding won a small prize.

Matejovsky Earns All-American Honors
Annaleigh Matejovsky, an incoming freshman at Wolf Point High School, captured honors during the recent AAU National Wrestling Championships held in Florida.
Matejovsky was a member of Team Montana Gold. The squad took eighth place out of 18 teams in the gold bracket.
Her record was 12-3, which earned her All-American honors.

Golfers Win Missouri River Shootout
The Wolf Point Airport Golf Course team defeated the Glasgow squad in Ryder Cup type golf action recently. Wolf Point finished with 27 points compared to Glasgow’s 25 points during the tournament held at the Sunnyside Country Club.

Area Gymnasts Place At State Meet
The Montana state gymnastics meet was held in Bozeman on March 21-23. EMG had 13 event championships and three all-around championships.
In bronze, River Darby placed first on vault, balance beam and floor in her age group, while Abby Garoutte and Emmalyn Vallejo both won vault in their age groups.
