Froid/Lake’s boys’ basketball squad cruised to a 60-30 league victory over Richey/ Lamber on Friday, Jan. 12. The Red Hawks earned a 16-6 lead in the first quarter. The Froid/Lake Red Hawks overcame a strong first quarter by Bainville and were able to edge the Bulldogs, 40-32, in a defensive battle on Saturday, Jan. 6. The Bulldogs earned a 17-3 lead in the first quarter as a triangle-and-two defense frustrated the Red Hawks throughout the period. The scoring of Charles Butikofer led the Bulldogs to a 6-2 lead and then Alex Strickland connected on a three-pointer.

In a battle of District 2C girls’ squads, Bainville fought off Froid/Lake by a 46-31 final on Saturday, Jan. 6. The Bulldogs led 14-10 at the end of the first quarter and began taking more control in the second quarter. Hailey Berwick hit a three-pointer and a 12-footer to put Bainville up 19-11. Miah Pippenger then fired in a three-pointer for a 22-12 margin. Lila Butikofer was good from
