Froid/Lake’s boys’ basketball team dropped its season opener against Scobey by a 60-38 final on Friday, Dec. 8. Scobey led 17-6 at the end of the first quarter and increased the margin to 31-14 at the half. The Spartans accounted for 14 points in the third quarter to take a 45-24 advantage. Froid/Lake’s girls’ basketball squad opened its season with a 29-12 loss against Scobey on Friday, Dec. 8. The game was deadlocked at 3-3 after the first quarter, but Scobey scored 16 points in the second quarter for a 19-8 lead. Scobey increased the margin to 26-8 in the third quarter. Brooklyn Nordwick led the Red Hawks with six points. Mara Salvevold finished with three points.
