Individuals Place During Area Rodeo Action


Northern Rodeo Association competitions were held in Culbertson and Poplar during the weekend. Culbertson held its Frontier Days rodeos on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13. Event winners included Ekalaka’s Tucker Tooke in saddle bronc, Glendive’s Ben Ayre in steer wrestling and Seth Berg of Mandah, N.D., in bareback riding. Local Bigler, 14, tried his hand at the bareback bronc riding event both nights at the Frontier Days Rodeo in Culbertson this weekend. Bigler attended the Creator’s Game Bronc Riding Clinic at the Poplar Rodeo Grounds in May and learned from expert riders how to participate safely and successfully. Athletes from Culbertson and Bainville came away with individual honors during the Class C track meet held in Laurel on Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30. Culbertson’s freshman Anna Steppler completed the 3200-meter run in a personal best time of 12:17.77 for fourth-place honors. Plenny Williams, a junior, earned fourth place in the discus for the Cowboys with a season best e_ort of 143-11.
