Culbertson dropped both non-conference games at Fairview on Saturday, Jan. 3. The Cowboys fell by a 5041 final. The Froid/Lake Red Hawks completed a winning weekend in girls’ basketball by downing Plentywood, 50-42, on Saturday, Jan. 3. After holding an 11-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Red Hawks scored 18 points in the second quarter for a 29-15 advantage. Atley Jensen scored 23 points to lead the Red Hawks’ attack. Laytyn Davidson also reached double figures with 10 points.

Area basketball teams will return to action this weekend with conference contests. Culbertson will face Froid/ Lake in both boys and girls action on Friday, Jan. 2, in Culbertson. The Culbertson will then host Fairview for non-conference games on Saturday, Jan. 3. After playing Culbertson on Friday, the Froid/Lake Red Hawks will face Plentywood in Medicine Lake on Saturday, Jan. 3.
