The Froid/Lake Red Hawks fought off the Thunder to earn a conference volleyball win on Thursday, Oct. 23. Froid/Lake defeated MonDak by a 25-21, 25-11, 23-25, 25-16 final. The visiting Red Hawks were behind early in the first set, but a kill by Atley Jensen and two aces by Avery Johnson closed the margin to 1917. A big fourth quarter lifted Bainville over Terry, 45-32, in a key six-man football conference game on Saturday, Oct. 18. The visiting Bulldogs trailed by a 24-12 margin in the second quarter, but Bainville pulled to 24-18 on a touchdown pass from Rowan Wilson to Parker Berwick. The Culbertson Cowboys capped their regular season with a 64-20 road victory over MonDak on Friday, Oct. 17. The Cowboys have the coming weekend off because Wibaux didn’t field a team this season. The Culbertson Cowgirls went on the road and earned a league volleyball victory over MonDak on Friday, Oct. 17. Culbertson won by a 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 25-20 final. Mariana Burciaga finished the match with 14 kills, 22 digs, an ace and an assist. Leandra Perkins scored five kills, four aces, a block and 22 digs. Emma Berwick scored 13 kills, six aces, 18 digs, an assist and four blocks.
