Gymnasts Place In Watford City

All 19 gymnasts on the Eastern Montana Gymnastics Team attended the NoDak Northern Lights Gymnastics Meet in Watford City on March 5-7. A total of 491 gymnasts competed at the meet. In their last meet of the regular season, both EMG teams won third place, out of the eight teams in the gold level and the nine teams in the silver level. Wolf Point’s Garfield Earns Sixth Place At State Wrestling Meet

Wolf Point’s wrestlers competed in Shelby this weekend for the Class B state meet. Mason Garfield at 182 pounds and Chance Smith at 205 pounds competed for the Wolves. Garfield earned sixth place and went 3-3 at the meet. He won his first match against a senior from Simms. He then faced the top seed from Thompson Falls-Noxon. “This was a really good match. Poplar Wrestlers Place At State

Two Poplar wrestlers placed at the Class B state meet held in Shelby on Friday and Saturday, March 5-6. Jase Frederick earned fifth place at 120 pounds. He is a three-time state placer. Shelby’s Boys Capture Divisional Title

Shelby’s boys’ basketball squad knocked off Fairfield, 50-33, in the championship game of the Northern B divisional basketball tournament in Cut Bank Saturday, March 6. Shelby jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the first quarter and 25-16 half-time advantage. Leading the Coyotes were Logan Leck with 21 points and Rhett Reynolds with 12 points. Gavin Mills had nine points to lead Fairfield.

Poplar Advances Seven Wrestlers To State Meet

The Poplar Indians qualified an impressive seven wrestlers for the state meet during the divisional tournament held in Glasgow on Friday, Feb. 26, and Saturday, Feb. 27. Wolf Point Hosts Girls’ Tourney

The eight-team Northern B girls’ basketball tournament will begin on Thursday, March 4, in Wolf Point. First-round contests will include District 1B champion Fairfield facing Conrad at 11 a.m., Glasgow meeting Shelby at 1:30 p.m., 2B champion Malta playing Cut Bank at 4:30 p.m., and Choteau taking on Harlem at 7 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 6.
