Lady Wolves Battle At Tournament
Wolf Point’s volleyball squad competed at the Scobey Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 10.
The tournament featured 14 teams from the area.
The Wolves opened play against Class C power Plentywood and lost by a 6-25, 15-21, final.
A kill by Kylie Rodenburg, a kill by Katelyn MacDonald and an ace by Azalei Ackerman got Wolf Point as close as 11-7 in the second set. Down by a 17-9 margin,
Lustre Team Scores Victory
The Lustre Lions won one of their two league volleyball matches last week.
The Lions knocked off Brockton in a conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Lustre then fell in Savage on Friday, Sept. 9.
During the tournament in Scobey on Saturday, Sept. 10, the Lions dropped their opening two matches against Poplar and Wolf Point.
The Lions will travel to Plentywood on Saturday, Sept. 17.
Indians Lose League Match Against Malta
Poplar lost its volleyball match against a talented Malta team, 13-25, 15-25, 22-25, on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
After Malta gained a 13-5 lead in the first set, Poplar scored on a tip by Lainie Moran and a serve by Cammie Martell.
Despite a couple of strong net plays by Poplar’s Kessee Erickson, Malta went on to take a 22-11 advantage. An ace by Braelyn Nordwick cut the gap to 22-12, but a kill

Lady Wolves Win First Home Match Of Season
The Wolf Point Lady Wolves closed out each set in strong fashion as they downed Harlem, 25-20, 25-17, 25-22, in home volleyball action on Thursday, Sept. 1.
“Our communication was really good tonight,” Wolf Point’s coach Karli McGowan said after the league victory.
She feels the Lady Wolves need to continue improving on their defense.
