The Wolves trailed 60-52 entering the fourth quarter, but Wolf Point opened the final period with an inside basket by Sierra Hamilton and a three-pointer by J’Elle Garfield to close the margin to 60-57. The Lustre Lions swept basketball games against Frazer on Saturday, Jan. 7. Lustre’s girls downed the Bearcubs by a 52-39 margin. The Lions took a 16-6 lead in the first quarter, but the Bearcubs closed the gap to 21-16 in the second quarter. The Poplar Indians got off to a great start but lost at Plentywood by a 51-45 margin on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Poplar jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the non-conference contest and held a 23-18 halftime advantage. “We just went flat,” Poplar coach Gib Medicine Cloud said. “It was our first game coming off the long Christmas break.
