Poplar’s Boys Drop Game In Plentywood

 

The Poplar Indians got off to a great start but lost at Plentywood by a 51-45 margin on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Poplar jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the non-conference contest and held a 23-18 halftime advantage.

“We just went flat,” Poplar coach Gib Medicine Cloud said. “It was our first game coming off the long Christmas break. We didn’t take care of the little things that we need to.”

Poplar trailed 35-32 after three quarters of play.

Top scorers for the Indians were Geordy Medicine Cloud with 11, Delray Lilley with 10 and Kaniel Ricker with 10 points.

Also scoring for Poplar were Kameron Reum with five, Preston Ogle with five and Walker Burshia with four points.

“I think it’s something we will learn from. We will fix things and go forward,” Coach Medicine Cloud said.

Leading Plentywood were Noah Murray with 14, Easton Tommerup with 12 and Caydon Trupe with 10 points.

“They were hitting their shots and rebounding well,” Coach Medicine Cloud said of the Wildcats.
