Poplar Girls Stop Scotties
A big second quarter lifted Poplar’s girls’ basketball team to a 51-39 win in Glasgow on Saturday, Jan. 14.
The victory improved Poplar’s league record to 3-1 for the season.
After a 5-5 deadlock at the end of the opening quarter, the Indians struck for 22 points in the second period for a 27-19 advantage.
Poplar increased its lead to 41-29 during the third quarter.

Poplar’s girls’ wrestling team earned second place at the Choteau Invitational during the weekend.
The Indians finished with 83 points right behind Simms with 85.5 points. Florence- Carlton took third with 78 points.
Angelina Escarcega captured the championship at 107 pounds. She opened with a pin in 1:33 against Choteau’s Miley Crabb and then pinned Simms’ Hayley Petersen in 2:55

Lustre Christian’s boys’ basketball team cruised to a 78-34 league victory over North County on Friday, Jan. 13.
The Lions jumped out to a 19-8 advantage in the first quarter and held a 42-20 halftime lead.
Lustre scored 20 points in the third quarter to increase the margin to 62-25.
Leading the Lions were Elijah Lenihan with 17 and Cayden Klatt with 12 points.

Frazer increased its advantage to 58-43 in the third quarter.
