Wolves Win Medals At Class B State Track Meet
Wolf Point’s Peyton Summers and Mason Garfield each earned All-State medals during the Class B state track meet held in Great Falls on Friday, May 27, and Saturday, May 28.
Summers, a sophomore, led most of the way in the 3200 until Red Lodge’s Brandon Emineth moved ahead during the final lap. Emineth, a senior who also won the state cross-country title, finished with a time of 10:00.03.

Lustre’s Hambira Returns To Place At State Meet
Lustre Christian’s Jasiah Hambira never lost the faith that he would return this track season.
The junior was off to an outstanding track season as he reached state qualifying marks in both the high jump and triple jump during early-season meets. His season took a detour, however, when he was sidelined with mononucleosis. His last regular- season action was on April 21.

Wolf Point Honors Athletes During Banquet
Wolf Point High School’s student athletes were honored during the school’s sports banquet on Tuesday, May 24.
Athletic director Eric Peterson noted this was the first time in a few years because of COVID that the school held the event for all sports.

Flag Football Season Enjoys Success In First Year
Officials were pleased of Wolf Point’s first year with an elementary flag football program. The league was for fourth through sixth graders.
“They had some fun,” Wolf Point Coach Anthony Red Cloud said. “Just getting them to play football is important.” The league averaged between 25-30 players each night. Last week was the final one for this year’s games.

Wolves Earn Fourth Place At Divisional Track Meet
Wolf Point’s boys’ track team accounted for 73 points to earn fourth place at the North-East divisional track meet in Great Falls on Saturday, May 21.
The top three boys’ teams were Glasgow with 82 points, Malta with 81 and Fairfield with 76.5 points.
The Wolves captured the top three spots in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs.
Peyton Summers finished first in the 1600 at 4:40.68

Indians Advance To State Track Meet
Poplar placed eighth in the girls’ standings and ninth in the boys’ standings during the North-East divisional track meet held in Great Falls on Saturday, May 21.
The Indians accounted for 25 points in the girls’ division and eight points in the boys’ division.
