Poplar Girls Fall To Scotties

Poplar’s girls’ basketball team led for three quarters but came up short against Glasgow, 61-53, at home on Saturday, Feb. 11.

After trailing 14-11 at the end of the first quarter, the Indians gained a 32-25 halftime advantage. Braelyn Nordwick hit two three-pointers for the Indians during the second period.

Poplar held a 44-41 advantage after three quarters of play. Glasgow scored 20 points in the fourth period including 10 on free throws.

Kessee Erickson and Morgen Nordwick led the Indians with 15 points each.

Also scoring for Poplar were Cammie Martell with seven, B. Nordwick with six, Jazmyn Carrywater with four, EmmaRae Martell with two, Rikki Belton with two and Bailey Dupree with two.

Daley Aune led Glasgow with 20 points and was 16 for 19 from the foul stripe. Also reaching double figures were Mayzie Yoakam with 16 and Carly Nelson with 15 points.
