The Frazer Bearcubs outscored Dodson, 75-59, in girls’ basketball action on Friday, Jan. 13. After leading by only a 1513 margin at the end of the first quarter, the Bearcubs struck for 22 points in the second period for a 37-28 lead. Frazer increased its advantage to 58-43 in the third quarter. Leading Frazer’s attack were Shakira Beston with 24 and Baily Beston with 19 points.

Frazer dropped both basketball contests at home against North Country on Saturday, Jan. 14. Frazer’s boys lost by a 74-37 final. The Bearcubs were competitive in the first half. North Country led 17-13 at the end of the first quarter and 36-25 at the half. The Mavericks outscored Frazer by a 24-5 margin in the third quarter. In the girls’ game, North County posted a 77-11 victory.

The Poplar Indians dropped two tough conference basketball contests in Malta on Friday, Jan. 13. In the boys’ game, the Indians were edged by a 63-59 final.
