Froid/Lake Boys Down Fusion

Froid/Lake’s boys’ basketball squad cruised to a 60-30 league victory over Richey/ Lamber on Friday, Jan. 12.

The Red Hawks earned a 16-6 lead in the first quarter. Mason Dethman scored nine points and Landon Kelm had five points in the period.

Froid/Lake increased the margin to 31-10 during the second quarter. Dethman led the attack with eight points in the quarter. Cody Olson connected on a three-pointer.

The Red Hawks held a 5022 advantage at the end of the third quarter.

Dethman finished with 27 points. Kelm added 11 points.

Also scoring were Joseph Robertson with eight, Olson with five, Nate Stentoft with five, Rylan Young with two and Carsen Kelm with two points.

Top scorers for the Fusion were Beau Mullin with eight and Austin Lien with seven points.

In the girls’ game, the Fusion scored a 48-33 victory.

Richey/Lambert led 30-26 at the end of the third quarter and then outscored the Red Hawks by an 18-7 margin in the fourth quarter.

Leading the Fusion were Jolee Klempel with 16 and ShaeLyn Williams with 11 points. Keira Rains added eight points.

Froid/Lake will face Plentywood in Medicine Lake on Friday, Jan. 19, and travel to MonDak on Saturday, Jan. 20.
