Froid-Lake Celebrates Homecoming With School Spirit, Parade, Football Victory
Red, black and white filled the schools, streets and stands as students and community members came together to celebrate Froid/ Lake’s homecoming week.
School spirit remained high throughout the week as students participated in themed dress-up days, including Adam Sandler Day and Tropical Day. The creative outfits helped build excitement leading into the week’s athletic contests, parade and homecoming coronation.
On the volleyball court, the Froid/Lake RedHawks faced the Richey/Lambert Fusion. Although the RedHawks fell to the Fusion, they put up a strong fight and remained competitive throughout the match.
The celebration continued with a colorful homecoming parade down Main Street. Community members packed the route dressed in RedHawk colors as vibrant floats, horses and school groups passed through town. Young fans gathered along the street and collected candy while families, athletes and supporters showed their school pride.
The parade included the Froid/ Lake volleyball and football teams riding aboard firetrucks, along with floats featuring the junior high football team, football moms and other school and community groups.
Homecoming festivities culminated Saturday, Sept. 19, with the RedHawks’ football game against Broadus at Medicine Lake. Playing beneath lights donated for the game, Froid-Lake delivered an explosive performance and defeated the Hawks 59-20.
Homecoming royalty was announced during halftime, with football player Talen Larsen crowned king and volleyball player Isabelle Nordwick crowned queen.
From spirited dress-up days and a packed parade route to a decisive victory under the lights, the week brought the Froid and Medicine Lake communities together in a celebration of their schools and Red-Hawk pride.
