Bainville Girls Earn Victory In Savage
Bainville’s girls’ basketball squad jumped out to a good start and defeated Savage by a 48-23 final on Friday, Jan. 30.
The Bulldogs led 8-1 at the end of the first quarter and 21-9 at the half. Bainville then scored 12 points in the third period for a 33-13 advantage.
Scoring leaders for the Bulldogs were Hailey Berwick with 13 and Chandi Johnson with 12 points. Addison Hansen added nine points. Lila Butikofer and Jodi Albus each scored six points. Tenley Berwick had two points.
Aspen Peterson finished with 13 points to lead the Warriors.
In the boys’ game, Savage gained control in the third quarter to edge the Bulldogs by a 42-30 margin.
The Warriors held an 18-15 lead at intermission and then outscored the Bulldogs, 12-0, in the third quarter.
Rowan Wilson and Parker Berwick each scored nine points for the Bulldogs.
Also scoring were Kaiden Holmes with five, Evan Anderson with four and Holden Salivar with three points.
Leading Savage’s attack were Adrian Smelser with 14, Boden Jorgensen with nine and Jaxcen Sanders with eight points.
Bainville’s games against Wibaux were postponed until Monday, Feb. 9. The Bulldogs will host Richey/Lambert on Friday and play at Froid/Lake on Saturday.
