The Bainville High School ceremony was a time to look back at great accomplishments and thank those individuals who made those achievements possible. Graduating on Saturday, May 17, were Tally Berwick, Isaiah Bjorge, Miah Pippenger, Trevor Robertus, Hannah Scott, Elsie Wilson and Eivind Reed Winn.

Wilson, the salutatorian of the class, said one of her favorite parts of eating a Chinese meal is reading the fortune cookie message. “I save every fortune I get from those cookies,” she noted. One of those messages that she has kept throughout her high school days is “If only we knew the real value of the day.”

She listed accomplishments of the class including those in FFA, Business Professionals of America, winning a league football title and earning divisional trophies in volleyball and girls’ basketball. Bainville’s girls’ basketball team won both the conference and district titles for the first time since 1983.

Wilson said all of those achievements happened because certain people made the most out of their days. She thanked advisors and coaches for putting in a multitude of hours. She mentioned elementary and junior high coaches for establishing the foundation of their success. Wilson acknowledged the dedication of her teammates and the support from community members.

Berwick, the valedictorian of the class, noted that she was in the spotlight at that moment, but it was because of her family members, teachers, school staff and coaches. She thanked her teammates for proving some of her most treasured memories.

She described her classmates as extremely smart and talented in different ways. Berwick thanked the community for attending all of the school’s events and fundraisers during the years.

Berwick encouraged underclassmen to show up for practices, classes and meeting. She advised them to take advantage of all the opportunities given to them.

FFA advisor and agriculture teacher Kellan Standley served as the guest speaker and provided a good amount of humor in his 25 tips for the graduates.

Bainville’s eighth-grade graduates were Blythe Anderson, Tenley Berwick, Colton Glas, Charles Johnston, Durrant Mahoney, Abigail Scott, Reese Smith, Annalyce Sorenson, Logan Telck, Mark Tholborn, Ryan Tholborn and Janae Wheeler.

Graduating from kindergarten were Della Barry, Edie Clarke, Oaklyn Cser, William Gregory, Peyton Helms, Ryker Jacobe, Blayze Jorgenson, Evelyn Keefner, Harrison Kuehl, Pacen Manzanares, Zackary Pacovsky, Evelynn Panasuk, Grayson Picard and Axton Robertus.
