Eastern C Tourney Starts In Sidney

Squads will battle for state berths during the Eastern C basketball tournaments in Sidney this week.

The top two teams in both the boys’ and girls’ tournaments will advance to the Class C tournament to be played in Great Falls on March 9-12.

The undefeated Froid/ Lake Red Hawks will open the boys’ tournament against Plentywood at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2.

Bainville battles Lustre Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Other first-round contests feature defending state champion Scobey taking on Richey/Lambert at 6 p.m. and North Country facing Fairview at 7:30 p.m.

The championship game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

The girls’ tournament tips off on Thursday, March 3. District 2C champion Plentywood faces Circle in the first round at noon.

Culbertson opens play against Scobey at 1:30 p.m. Froid/Lake takes on North Country at 6 p.m. and Nashua plays MonDak at 7:30 p.m.

The girls’ title contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday.
