The Wolf Point Elks Lodge #1764 recently presented two grants to assist with the Wolf Point food pantry’s efforts in the community. Mullen Seeks Secretary Of State Spot


Jesse Mullen, who is interested in becoming the next Montana Secretary of the State, visited with the Roosevelt County Commissioners on Thursday, Aug, 3. The newspaper publisher noted that he will file as a Democrat for the 2024 Secretary of the State election. Mullen explained that because his background as a journalist, he is familiar working with election officials and county clerks.

The 2023 Livestock Showmanship and judging took place Thursday, Aug. 10, and Friday, Aug. 11, at the Roosevelt County Fairgrounds. Thursday afternoon starting at 4:30 p.m. Goat showmanship and goat market judging was immediately followed by sheep showmanship and sheep market judging. A large number of area children took part in the activities during the Chiropractor Fun Days held outside of Wolf Point’s Junior/Senior High School on Thursday, Aug. 10. The event included temporary tattoos, games, water balloons, table activities and food. The Chiropractor Fun Days are part of the Love Has No Color program. Montana Rez Bred, formed by local residents Frances Weeks and Tracy Rider, become registered with the State of Montana earlier this year. The local frybread frying women collaborated with a non-profit company in Ronan to write a business plan for manufacturing and packaging a dry frybread mix in one-pound packages. County 4-H Honors Petersen, Tractor Supply Company


Roosevelt County 4-H added two new members to its wall of fame on Friday, Aug. 11. Honored prior to the livestock sale at the Roosevelt County Fair were Clay Petersen of Culbertson and the Tractor Supply Company of Sidney. Petersen has been involved with the Roosevelt County 4-H program for a short time, but he has been working behind the scenes by assisting with maintenance at the fair
