The Lady Wolves overcame a slow start to post a 53-23 conference victory over Harlem, 53-23, in Wolf Point on Saturday, Jan. 7. Wolf Point trailed by a 1312 margin until accounting for 10 straight points during the final 4:48 of the second quarter. Senior guard Mailey Wells got the run going with three straight points. A basket off a rebound by Sierra Hamilton increased Wolf Point’s lead

Lustre Boys Down Bainville


Two previously undefeated teams squared off when Bainville traveled to Lustre for a boys’ basketball showdown on Thursday, Jan. 5. Lustre took control in the middle two quarters for a 65-39 victory. The Bulldogs, led by the scoring of Ayden Knudsen and Alex Strickland, played close with the top-ranked Lions throughout the first quarter. Lustre held a 15-11 advantage at the end of the period.

With the Indians behind by a 61-59 margin, Dupree knocked down three free throws to give the Indians a 62-61 victory. The Red Hawks held a 4746 lead

After a close first quarter, Bainville’s girls’ basketball team used its quickness to down Lustre, 63-30, during non-conference play in Lustre on Thursday, Jan. 5. A 17-footer by Lustre’s Alexa Reddig ended the quarter with Bainville up by only a 1410 margin.
