Wolf Point and Poplar wrestlers each enjoyed success during the season-opening Eagle Invitational held in Sidney on Friday, Dec. 5, and Saturday, Dec. 6. The Wolf Point girls’ basketball team put up a good fight but dropped its season opening against Hays/Lodge Pole by a 52-47 final in Great Falls on Friday, Dec. 5. The Wolves trailed by a 14-12 margin at the end of the first quarter, but Wolf Point gained a 24-21 advantage at the half. Ma’Kenzie Jackson scored four points and Jori Lynn Blackeagle hit a three-pointer during the second quarter.

Frazer’s girls’ basketball squad opened its season with a 53-32 victory over Two Eagle River on Friday, Dec. 5. The Bearcubs jumped out to a 15-8 lead in the first quarter and increased the gap to 22-12 at the half. Frazer then struck for 18 points in the third quarter for a 40-25 margin.
