Lustre’s girls’ basketball squad ended its season on a strong note by beating Dodson, 42-35, on Saturday, Feb. 11. The Lions fell behind 11-5 in the first quarter and closed the gap to 17-15 in the second quarter. Lustre’s girls’ basketball team lost to powerhouse North Country, 55-10, at home on Friday, Feb. 10. The Maverick took a 22-0 lead in the first half. The margin was 30-3 at half-time. North Country held a 42-5 advantage after three quarters of play. Scoring for the Lions were Alexa Reddig with four, Aubri Holzricther with three, Grace Brown with two and Hannah Brown with one point.

Wolf Point’s boys’ basketball squad struggled offensively and lost at Glendive, 57-32, on Thursday, Feb. 10. The Red Devils led 12-4 at the end of the first quarter and by a 22-13 half-time margin. Wolf Point native Tori Nygard has qualified for the NAIA national indoor track meet. Nygard, competing for Dickinson State University in North Dakota, hit the automatic qualifying mark when she had a best of 54-07 in the weight throw during the weekend. She ranks second all time at Dickinson State University in the event. Wolf Point’s Jewel Olson was part of the 1600-meter relay team
