Cowgirls Aim For Return Trip To Divisional Tourney
The Culbertson Cowgirls qualified for the divisional volleyball tournament for the first time in 10 years last season and aim to keep their winning ways going this fall.
The Cowgirls return five starters including seniors Makena Hauge, Perla Burciaga, Koree Marchwick and Alicyn Ator along with junior Destiny Thompson.
Hauge earned All-State honors and Marchwick was an All-Conference selection
Runners Enjoy Good Turnout For Season
A year after earning second place at the state girls’ cross-country meet, the Culbertson/ Bainville team enjoys a good turnout this fall.
Kayli Olson, Destiny Thompson and Megan Granbois are returning members of last year’s girls’ squad. Culbertson had 59 points at state compared to champion Manhattan Christian’s 47 points.

Talsma Wins All-Around Title In Glasgow
Ty Talsma won the allaround cowboy honor during the PRCA rodeo at the Northeast Montana Fair and Rodeo in Glasgow last week. He earned $2,608 for steer wrestling and team roping.
Cole Hould took first with 85 points on J Bar J’s Little Hoot for bull riding. Shane Proctor placed second with 81 points, Kobe Whitford was third with 76 points and Jeff Bertus placed fourth with 70 points.

Meetings To Be Held In Malta, Glasgow, Havre - Public Scoping Meetings Being Held Across Northeast Montana For New Elk Management Plan
Public scoping meetings are being held across northeast Montana to seek the public’s assistance in helping to revise the statewide Elk Management Plan last adopted in 2005.
• Malta: Malta high school, Aug. 9, from 6-8 p.m.
• Glasgow: Cottonwood Inn, Aug. 11, from 6-8 p.m.

Bolstad Named Head Women’s Basketball Coach At MCC
Miles Community College athletic director Jerry Olson has announced that Jenna Bolstad has been named head coach of the women’s basketball program.
