The Montana High School Association has recently announced the 2022-2023 service year award list for officials who are members of the Montana Officials Association. Dean Nelson of Homestead was honored for 35 years of service. Area officials recognized for 30 years of service were Jeanna Adkins of Bainville, Mike Dryden of Glendive and Myron Malnaa of Glasgow. The Bainville Bulldogs improved to 4-0 this boys’ basketball campaign with a 6046 home victory over Circle on Saturday, Dec. 10. A strong second half by the Bulldogs was the difference. Bainville trailed 34-30 at the half, but the Bulldogs outscored Circle, 12-8, in the third quarter for a 42-42 deadlock. Bainville’s Alex Strickland and Charles Butikofer each scored four points in the quarter.

The Culbertson Cowboys broke away in the middle two quarters to beat Richey/Lambert, 68-30, in Culbertson on Saturday, Dec. 10. After leading by only a 9-6 margin at the end of the first quarter, the Cowboys struck for 16 points in the second quarter for a 25-13 half-time advantage. Culbertson ran off 19 points in the third quarter to increase the gap to 44-20. The Cowboys added 24 more points

The Culbertson Cowgirls cruised to a 60-22 home victory over the Richey/Lambert Fusion on Saturday, Dec. 10. The Cowgirls took control from the start with a 13-2 lead in the first quarter. Destiny Thompson tallied five points in the quarter. Culbertson increased its advantage to 31-11 in the second period.
