Culbertson/Bainville Runs To Honors At State


The Culbertson/Bainville girls’ squad put together an outstanding effort to earn second place at the Class C state cross country meet in Missoula on Saturday, Oct. 22. Culbertson/Bainville finished with 50 points to capture the second-place trophy. Manhattan Christian topped the standings with 37 points. The Froid/Lake Red Hawks clinched first place in the district with a home victory over Bainville on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The 14-team district tournament begins Thursday, Oct. 27, in Plentywood. Froid/Lake edged Bainville by a 25-11, 25-18, 25-22, margin in Froid. Froid/Lake took an 8-4 lead in the first set on two kills by Dasani Nesbit and an ace by Makaylee Elvsaas. Bulldogs End Season With Exciting Win


Bainville’s football team ended its season in a memorable way when a touchdown and conversion with 12 seconds left lifted the Bulldogs over Jordan, 34-33, on Thursday, Oct. 20. “It was a great way to end the year. It helps,” Bainville Coach Shawn Romo said after the home victory. The Bulldogs entered the game without a conference win and with three starters out with injuries.

Froid/Lake Stops Wibaux, 58-13, In Regular Season Finale


The Froid/Lake Red Hawks capped off their undefeated conference football schedule by cruising to a 58-13 home victory over Wibaux on Saturday, Oct. 22. The two-time defending state champions will start playoff action at home on Saturday with kickoff at 1 p.m. The Red Hawks will face Denton/Geyser/Stanford/ Geraldine. The Red Hawks lost a defensive battle, 20-14, against the Bearcats early this season.
