Dorothy Schmitt


Dorothy Schmitt, 85, of Lustre died March 21, 2022, in Glasgow. She was born March 11, 1937, in Chico, Calif., to Dormer and Adeline (Bogar) Glyshaw while her father was in the Navy. They moved back to the farm in Vida to farm and she went to school there. In the winter, they lived in Billings where she attended Billings Senior High and graduated. From there, she went to Multnomah Bible College in Portland, Ore., where she met Alfred Schmitt. Shortly after, she and Alfred married in Billings at the Church of the Air on Sept. 4, 1959. They resided in Glasgow and Missoula for short periods of time and ended up back on the farm where Alfred’s love for farming began. Their first son, Perry, was born, soon to be followed by Craig and their daughter Melenie. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother to her three children. She survived her children riding motorcycles, creating various motorized contraptions, basketball practices and games, 4H, horses and many more activities. She was always involved in the EMB church with ladies aid, Sunday school or whatever were the needs of the church. Her best friend and neighbor, Carolyn Fauth, spent many days having coffee, working in the gardens, doing ceramics, sewing for 4H with her daughter Melenie and helping Carolyn deliver cakes. Memories she would talk about when she was young are riding the horses through the water and holding onto their tails with her sister and her time in Billings and how she loved being in the big city. Sharon Lee Brock, 57, died March 8, 2022, in Wolf Point. She was born June 23, 1964, to Pete and Ruth (Hawk) Brock in Wolf Point. She was the second youngest of 10 children. She worked at A& S for a handful of years. Due to health conditions and family needs, she took time off to take care of herself and her family. She later went to work at Town Pump where her smiling face was present for 21 years. She also did home health care for her sister, Mary, and recently took in her grandchildren, Jonathan and Aubrey. Her biggest accomplishment was her son, Jason. She was his biggest fan, attending his sporting events and making sure he succeeded through high school. They spent many hours together listening to music, battling in different games and joking around. She was one of the nicest people with the biggest heart. She worked hard and loved even harder. She took all under her wings that needed extra guidance and was known to keep them in check, never letting them

David Redstone

David Redstone


David Parnell Redstone, 58, of Wolf Point died Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point. He was born Jan. 30, 1964, in Wolf Point to Myrtice Mc-Connell Redstone and Justin “Chug” Redstone. He grew up in Frazer, where he graduated from high school in 1982. He played several sports throughout high school which included cross country, track and basketball. He was an all-star player who was great at everything he did. After high school, he went to work on the oil rigs north of Wolf Point for a few years and lived in Arizona with his sister and brother-in-law for a short time while he worked in construction before moving back to Montana. He really loved firefighting, coaching youth sports, telling stories, making people laugh and visiting with people. He was friendly and was liked and loved by everyone that knew him. Above all things, he was a proud husband to Yvette Peltier and father to Chloe and Jovi Redstone and Karena McConnell. He is survived by his wife, Yvette; daughters, Chloe

Stanley M. Hansen, 79, of Paulden, Ariz., died March 4, 2022. Born April 8, 1942, in Williston, N.D., to parents Florence and Otto Hansen and resided in McCabe (Dain Valley), he went to school and graduated from Culbertson High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Gobin, on June 8, 1963, in Froid. He moved several times as his work demanded it. Known as the Montana Stomper, he was a master drywaller for over 40 years, living in several states, Illinois, Virginia, North Dakota, Montana and settling in Arizona in 1984. He proudly served in the Army National Guard and retired after 20 years of service. He worked for the State of Arizona, at the Bellmont Army Depot and retired after 18 years of service to the state. He always put family first and was a generous man. He gave without expecting anything in return. He believed in hard work, his country and flew his flag out of respect to his fellow servicemen and -women. He always had a good word and always wanted to know

Maurice Wayne Gonitzke, 81, of New Richland, Minn., died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2022, in Lake Mills, Iowa. He was born on June 8, 1940, in Bottineau, N.D., the son of Henry and Alice (Brandt) Gonitzke. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Kramer, N.D. He attended and graduated from Kramer High School in 1958. He went on to graduate from Bottineau Forestry and went on to continue his education at University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D. He was united in marriage with Dorothy “Dot” Plorin in Gardena, N.D. They were married for 61 years. The family made their home in Bottineau for a number of years and then moved to Froid, where he was the manager of the Cenex service station and fertilizer plant. He served on the town council

Arnold Erwin EagleBoy Sr., 73, of Poplar died March 8, 2022, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings. He was born on Aug. 2, 1948, to Matthew Eagle Boy and Rose No Breast Eagle Boy. He was raised in Chelsea and attended school in Poplar. He worked at A& S Industries for a long time. He retired from there after it closed, then was a CHR driver for a while. He enjoyed traveling in the big van called “Big Bertha” to Minot, N.D., for the state fair and walking around. He loved going to pow-wows and visiting his brother Adrian. He played guitar for wakes and funerals on and off the reservation with Manny Smith. He had a special relationship with Shirley Sparvier, and they had two daughters Steffie EagleBoy and Marcella EagleBoy. Arnold EagleBoy, Jr. came later on. He was the last descendant of the Eagle Boy family. Donna Shumway Kellum, 77, died Saturday, March 12, 2022, at her home in Miles City. She was born on Sept. 11, 1944, in Wolf Point, the fifth of 12 children to George and Pearl Shumway. She lived in Nashua from the age of one until she was nine years old. Her family moved back to Wolf Point when she was nine. She attended schools in Nashua and Wolf Point. Shea graduated high school with a GED. In her lifetime, she worked at the Wolf Point hospital, Northeastern Mental Health in Glasgow, Poplar Hospital and Nursing Home and the Custer County Health Department. She also worked 10 years for Mary Cato Swayne in Miles City. From a previous marriage, she had a son, Robert Allison. She married Ken Kellum on Sept. 1, 1990, and, from this marriage, she gained five stepchildren. One she helped raise, Kyle. Her lifelong devotion to pets of all shapes and sizes was inspiring to many. She wanted her family to know that, in her life, all the good she had done was given in Jesus’ name and her sins were left with him at the cross. She is survived by her son, Robert Allison; stepsons, Terry Kellum and Kyle Kellum, stepdaughters, Terra Kellum and Rayna Bird; adopted son,
