The Bainville Bulldogs punched their ticket to the six-man football playoffs by cruising to a 66-20 home victory over Savage on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The Bulldogs, who will travel to Chester for a firstround contest on Saturday, Nov. 1, accounted for a touchdown on their first offensive play when quarterback Rowan Wilson ran 50 yards to the end zone. Wilson passed to Kaiden Holmes for the conversion to take a quick 7-0 lead.

After the defense led with plays by Parker Berwick and Kaston Hofer forced the Warriors to punt the ball, the Bulldogs soon reached the end zone again. A nice run after the catch by Kyn Beery resulted in a 21-yard gain to the Savage 24. On the next play, Wilson broke loose for another touchdown run. Another pass to Holmes on the conversion put the margin at 14-0.

On Bainville’s next possession, Wilson and Holmes connected on a 61-yard touchdown pass. Wilson ran in the conversion for a 21-0 advantage.

The second quarter started with strong defensive plays by Wilson, Berwick and Haedyn Wills ending a drive by Savage. A 29-yard touchdown dash by Wilson put the Bulldogs up 27-0 with 7:20 left in the half.

The Warriors then put a drive together with a pass from Boden Jorgensen to Tucker Morgan resulting in a first down at the Bainville 18. The Warriors went on to score on a 17-yard run by Morgan with 4:59 remaining in the half.

On Bainville’s next possession, Wilson dealt with a bad snap but was able to fire a 42-yard touchdown pass to Holden Salivar for a 33-6 advantage.

The Bulldogs added a touchdown on an 18-yard gain by Wilson to increase the margin to 39-6 with 1:08 left in the half.

Bainville struck quickly in the third quarter when a 30-yard pass from Wilson to Holmes accounted for a touchdown. Salivar’s kick put the score at 47-6.

After an interception by Berwick, Wilson hit Salivar with a short pass to increase the lead to 53-6.

Late in the quarter, Wilson passed to Holmes for a touchdown and a 59-6 lead.

Bainville’s only touchdown of the fourth quarter came on a kickoff return by Berwick.
