Bulls Tie For First At Tournament

The Bulls’ Babe Ruth team tied for first place at a fourteam baseball tournament held in Wolf Point during the weekend.
The Bulls experienced a slow start to the tournament as they lost to Sidney on Saturday, but Froid responded by winning by a wide margin against Malta later in the day.
On Sunday, the Bulls knocked off Wolf Point, 18-0, to move into the championship round against Sidney.
The Bulls led by a 4-3 margin after five innings and then added two runs in the top of the sixth as Noah Hauge came home on a wild pitch and Carson Aasheim accounted for an infield hit to bring home another runner.
Froid held an 8-3 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh, but Sidney pulled even with five runs for an 8-8 deadlock.
Sidney had the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the eighth, but Froid’s pitcher Jax Ator got out of the inning without a run scoring.
The Bulls went ahead by scoring a pair of runs on wild pitches in the top of the ninth inning for a 10-8 lead. Sidney scored a run in the bottom of the ninth but left the bases loaded.
Because it was Sidney’s first loss, another game was needed to determine the double-elimination tournament. That contest was postponed when a thunderstorm came through the area.
