The Culbertson Cowboys piled up 122 points to earn second place at a meet in Baker on Tuesday, April 22.

Baker topped the boys’ standings with 135 points. Glendive was third with 84 points.

Reese Moon was a double winner for the Cowboys as the senior took first in the triple jump at 39-3 and first in the 100-meter dash at 11.58 seconds.

Also placing first were Brooks Solem with a personal best of 155-3 in the javelin and Cal Steppler in the 3200 at 11:34.76. The 400-meter relay team consisting of Harrison Green, Ian Snyder, Bridger Salvevold and Moon took first at 45.82 seconds.

Placing second were Gavin Deen in the javelin with a personal best of 1486, Solem with a time of 18.8 in the 110-meter hurdles and Snyder in the 200 at 24.59 seconds.

Aden Drake finished third in the 110-meter hurdles at 19.64 and third in the 300-meter hurdles at 47.72. Plenny Williams placed third in the discus at 135-10. Solem cleared 5-8 in the high jump for third place. Also placing third were Moon with a mark of 20-1 in the long jump and the 1600-meter relay team of Drake, Green, Mauricio Mena and Steppler with a time of 4:08.55.

Placing fourth was Snyder with a time of 11.71 in the 100. Taking fifth were Deen in the shot put at 40-10, Steppler with a time of 5:34.24 in the 1600 and Salvevold a 11.82 in the 100. Placing sixth were Solem with a time of 1:01.49 in the 300-meter hurdles and Williams with a mark of 129-4 in the javelin.

The Culbertson Cowgirls scored 17 points at the meet for eighth place. Bowman County, N.D. topped the standings with 134 points.

In the girls’ division, the 1600-meter relay team placed third of Rebekah Ellerkamp, Stella Fox, Bella Petersen and Serenity Wilbanks with a time of 5:42.68.

Petersen finished fifth in the 200 at 30.9 and fifth in the 400 at 1:12.28.

Emma Berwick took fourth in the discus with a personal best of 90-5 and fifth in the shot put with a personal best of 28-10.

Ayden Ator placed sixth in the javelin with a mark of 82-4.

Culbertson will compete at the track meet in Fairview on Friday May 2.
