Froid/Lake Girls Defeat Culbertson

A 21-point performance in the third quarter led the Froid/Lake Red Hawks to a 38-31 girls’ basketball victory in Culbertson on Thursday Dec. 21.

The Cowgirls jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first quarter, but Froid/Lake tied the game at 11-11 at the half.

The Red Hawks then accounted for 21 points in the third quarter for a 32-17 advantage.

Brooklynn Nordwick led the Red Hawks with 13 points in the victory. Isabelle Nordwick added nine points and Mara Salvevold scored seven. Rounding out the scoring were Alexa Nelson with five, Lilly Johnson with two and Keira Stentoft with two points.

Culbertson’s Mariana Burciaga finished with 11 points. Destiny Thompson scored seven and Leandra Perkins had six points.

Also scoring were Payton Labatte with three, Ivy Colvin with two and Ayden Ator with two.
