Bulldogs Lose Games Against Lustre

Lustre Christian won both basketball games during non-conference action in Bainville on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

Lustre’s girls won by a 5246 final margin. The Lions jumped out to an 18-8 lead in the first quarter and went on to take a 27-15 half-time advantage. The Bulldogs battled back to 36-30 in the third quarter.

Top scorers for Lustre were Kencia Brown with 17, Alexa Reddig with 11 and Aubri Holzrichter with 11 points. Hannah Brown and Grace Brown added six points. Lauryn Holzrichter had a point.

Elsie Wilson accounted for 18 of Bainville’s points. Also scoring for Bainville were Tally Berwick with eight, Brecklyn Pippenger with six, Miah Pippenger with six, Hailey Berwick with four and Addison Hansen with four points.

In the boys’ game, Lustre won by a 61-21 final. The Lions held a 23-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and were ahead 32-12 at intermission.

Leading the Lions were Terran Joseph with 21 and Johnslee Pierre with 13 points. Byron Ewing finished with nine points. Also scoring were Clay Reddig with six, Cayden Klatt with five, Diek Olfert with three, Joel Reddig with three and Cam Reddig with one.

Alex Strickland led the Bulldogs with six points.Also scoring were Reed Winn with four, Carter Winn with three, Sam Butikofer with three, Cayden Boyd with three and Chuck Butikofer with two points.
