Bainville Sweeps Games Over Fusion
Bainville capped the 2023 portion of its basketball season with victories over Richey/Lambert on Friday, Dec. 22.
Bainville’s boys’ team defeated the Fusion by a 69-37 final.
The Bulldogs gained an 1812 lead in the first quarter and led 27-20 at the half.
Bainville then ran off 22 points in the third quarter for a 49-28 advantage.
Top scorers for the Bulldogs were Chuck Butikofer with 25 points, Alex Strickland with 14 and Sam Butikofer with 12 points.
Also scoring were Cayden Boyd with nine, Trevor Robertus with three, Kaiden Holmes with three, Carter Winn with two and Reese Harmon with one point.
Leading the Fusion were Austin Lien with 14, Curtis Mullin with eight and Tanner Goosen with six points.
In the girls’ game, the Bulldogs gained control in the second half for a 46-39 win.
After the Fusion earned a 26-22 lead in the first half, Bainville moved ahead 3633 in the third quarter. The Bulldogs then scored 10 more points in the fourth period.
Hailey Berwick scored 22 points to lead Bainville’s attack. Elsie Wilson also reached double figures with 12 points.
Rounding out Bainville’s scoring were Miah Pippenger with seven, Lila Butikofer with three and Tally Berwick with two points.
Top scorers for the Fusion were Jolee Klempel with 17, ShaeLyn Williams with nine and Keira Rains with eight points.
