Cowboys Win Game Over Fusion

The Culbertson Cowboys enjoyed an excellent first half and knocked off Richey/Lambert, 59-35, during District 2C play on Friday, Dec. 15.

The Cowboys jumped out to a 17-5 advantage in the first quarter en route to the victory.

Culbertson then tallied 14 points in the second period to increase its lead to 31-8 at the half.

Bridger Salvevold led Culbertson’s attack with 20 points in the win.

Nyreece Halvorson also reached double figures with 11 points. Dawson Bergum and Gavin Deen added eight points each.

Rounding out Culbertson’s scoring were Donte Eagle boy with six, Mark Kirkaldie with four and Plenny Williams with two points.

The Culbertson Cowgirls were outscored by a 48-39 margin against Richey/Lambert during District 2C girls’ basketball action on Friday, Dec. 15.

The Cowgirls trailed by only a 12-10 margin in the first quarter, but the Fusion increased the gap to 23-14 at intermission.

Richey/Lambert held a 3522 lead after three quarters of play.

Ayden Ator scored 13 points to lead the Cowgirls. She hit three three-pointers in the contest.

Destiny Thompson finished with nine points. Leandra Perkins added eight points.

Also scoring for the Cowgirls were Ivy Colvin with six and Mariana Burciaga with three points.

Culbertson will host Froid/ Lake on Thursday, Dec. 21.
