Senior Profile Henry Looks Toward Future In Computer Science

For Alexander Henry, music has become one of the most enjoyable parts of his experience at Culbertson High School.

A tenor in the school choir, Henry has been interested in music since junior high and plans to perform a vocal solo at the music festival. Choir is currently his favorite class.

“I have been enjoying it a lot as of late,” Henry said.

Henry named Russell Pfeifer as his favorite teacher, describing him as kind, easygoing and “one of the chilliest teachers at the school.” He said the teacher’s mix of folk songs and music from Broadway productions and films makes choir especially enjoyable.

One of Henry’s favorite high school memories came during his freshman year, when he attended the State Music Festival for the first time. The experience gave him an opportunity to make new friends and see members of his family.

Outside the choir room, Henry participates in track and field. He also works for his father’s construction company, which has been in the family for several years. During the summer, he helped remove a roof on a project outside of town, though his school responsibilities have kept him busier recently.

After graduation, Henry plans to attend college in Billings and earn a degree in computer science. Although he does not plan to make music his career, he hopes to continue it as a hobby.

Henry has attended school in Culbertson since arriving midway through kindergarten. He is the son of Hailee and Ethan Henry and has two sisters, Emma, a sophomore, and Ava, a junior high student.

During breaks, Henry can often be found spending time in the hallway. His go-to song this year is “Maniac,” while a chocolate bar and bottle of Diet Coke make up his favorite snack combination.

When asked — with wrong answers only — where he expects to be in 10 years, Henry offered a fitting answer for a college-bound student: “Still in school.”
