Roosevelt County Sheri_’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheri_’s Oce responded to 151 calls from Aug. 3-10.

The calls included the following: Aug. 4

Deputies responded to a request by tribal court regarding an adult in the building who had a tribal warrant for his arrest. He was taken to the tribal jail.

Tribal court asked a deputy to come to the trac court because an individual showed up intoxicated. The male was taken to tribal jail.

Aug. 5

Deputies assisted a tribal jail corrections ocer when a male prisoner refused to put on his jail clothing. Once deputies arrived, the male put on the clothes.

Deputies received a report from a male who said he was riding his bicycle in Poplar. When a pickup drove by, someone threw a glass bottle at the bicyclist. He gave a description of the vehicle.

Aug. 6

Deputies received a report from the manager of the Family Dollar store in Poplar that a video from the previous night showed a male trying to break into the building. There was some damage done to the door. No one gained entry into the store.

Deputies responded to Highway 344 near Froid where an one-vehicle rollover crash occurred. The Federal Express driver was uninjured. The Montana Highway Patrol took over the call. The Froid Fire Department also responded.

Deputies were called to the Stateline Casino where employees noticed that a female was hanging around the parking lot during the previous three days. Deputies couldn’t locate her.

Aug. 8

Deputies assisted on a house fire call in Poplar tribal housing at 6:30 p.m. Also responding were the Poplar Fire Department, the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice, Poplar ambulance and BIA fire. There were no injuries reported.

Aug. 9

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to Poplar where a person locked themselves out of their vehicle. A baby was in the backseat. After attempts to open the vehicle failed, the owner gave permission to break a side window. The baby was unharmed.

Statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, 13; Wolf Point rural, one; Wolf Point FPHA areas, four; Poplar city limits, 31; Poplar rural, 13; Poplar FPHA all other, 16; Poplar FPHA Airport Addition, nine; Culbertson town, 14; Culbertson rural, four; Bainville town, one; Bainville rural, seven; Froid town, one; Froid rural, 27; Brockton town, four; Brockton rural, one; Fort Kipp, three; Stateline club, one; total, 151.
