Bainville Drops Home Game Against Plevna
A short-handed Bainville football team lost against Plevna, 44-27, during home league play on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The Bulldogs, who are dealing with injuries, jumped out to a good start when a pass from Evan Anderson to Parker Berwick resulted in a touchdown for a 6-0 advantage.
A nice punt return by Holden Salivar put the Bulldogs back into scoring position later in the first quarter. Anderson passed to Berwick for another touchdown. A throw from Anderson to Keagan Vaira was good for a 13-0 lead.
After the Cougars reached the end zone on a running play, Vaira returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown. Anderson hit Kyn Beery for the conversion to put the margin to 20-6.
Plevna pulled to 20-12 at the half.
The Cougars then accounted for a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter to grab a 25-20 advantage.
After Plevna reached the end zone again for a 31-20 advantage, the Bulldogs responded with a touchdown pass from Anderson to Berwick. Anderson threw to Haedyn Wills for the conversion to close the margin to 3127 with 2:39 remaining in the contest. The Cougars put the contest away with two touchdowns down the stretch.
