Bainville’s junior Holden Salivar gains yards after a reception against Froid/Lake

The Bainville Bulldogs got off to a strong start and defeated Froid/Lake, 51-6, in sixman football action on Saturday, Sept. 13.

The Bulldogs needed only four plays to score in their homecoming game. After a 25-yard run by Rowan Wilson to the Froid/Lake 30 and then an incomplete pass, Wilson raced for a first down to the 11.

On the next play, Wilson connected with Parker Berwick for a touchdown. Austin Eveland kicked the conversion for an 8-0 lead.

The Red Hawks responded by driving inside Bainville territory on runs by Eddie Orozco and Aaron Orozco, the Red Hawks came up short on a fourth-and-four play.

A pass from Wilson to Holden Salivar led the Bulldogs deep inside Froid/Lake territory. The Bulldogs went on to score on a 14-yard throw from Wilson to Keagan Vaira with 3:45 left in the opening quarter. Wilson passed to Kyn Beery for the conversion and a 15-0 lead.

down at the 39, Wilson went deep with a pass to Berwick for a first down at the Froid/ Lake two. Wilson then hit Berwick with a touchdown pass. Eveland kicked the conversion for a 23-0 advantage near the end of the opening quarter.

After a kickoff return to midfield by Froid/Lake’s E. Orozco, the Red Hawks picked up a first down on a crucial fourth-down dash by E. Orozco.

down at the 13. On the next play, E. Orozco reached the end zone with 4:18 left in the half.

The Bulldogs answered with a 20-yard touchdown pass from Wilson to Evan Anderson with 1:31 remaining in the half. Eveland’s kick was good for a 31-6 advantage.

Bainville’s first score of the third quarter came after an interception by Salivar. Beery ran in the touchdown. Eveland’s kick put the score at 45-6.

The Bulldogs’ last touchdown came on a long run by Vaira for the 51-6 final.

Bainville will travel to Brockton on Saturday, Sept. 20, while Froid/Lake hosts the Savage Warriors.
