The Culbertson Cowboys accounted for 118 points to earn the second-place trophy at the Eastern C divisional track meet in Sidney on Tuesday, May 13.

Plentywood won the boys’ meet with 122 points. Lustre Christian placed third with 104 points.

Topping the girls’ standings were Circle with 96, Scobey with 89 and Richey/ Lambert with 75 points.

A pair of sophomores won first-place honors for the Cowboys. Plenny Williams took first in the discus with a mark of 142-2 and Brooks Solem earned first in the javelin with a personal best of 170-11.

Solem cleared 6-0 for second place in the high jump and second in the 110-meter hurdles at 17.56 seconds. Both were personal bests for Solem.

Reese Moon finished second in the 200-meter dash at 23.61 seconds. The senior placed third in the long jump at 20-4, third in the triple jump at 40-9 and third in the 100 at 11.53 seconds.

Gavin Deen had a best of 43-3 for second place in the shot put. He added a sixthplace showing in the javelin at 147-6.

Aden Drake took third in the 110-meter hurdles at 18.77 seconds and third in the 300-meter hurdles at 46.2 seconds. Solem finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at 47.22 seconds.

Ian Snyder cleared 5-10 for third place in the high jump. The junior placed fourth in the 100 at 11.82 and fourth in the 200 at 24.24 seconds.

Cal Steppler, a sophomore, earned fourth in the 3200 at 11:08.86 and fifth in the 1600 at 5:04.88. Harrison Green took sixth in the 200 at 25.11 seconds.

Culbertson’s boys’ 400-meter relay team finished second with a time of 45.29 seconds. Running the relay were Green, Snyder, Mauricio Mena and Moon.

The 1600-meter relay team consisting of Drake, Steppler, Mena and Green had a time of 3:52.34 for fifth place.

The Cowgirls had two placers at the meet.

Emma Berwick earned sixth in the discus with a best of 94-6.

Rebekah Ellerkamp finished sixth in the 3200 with a time of 15:25.87.

Other divisional champions in the boys’ division were Plentywood’s Henry Kukowski in the 100 and 200, Scobey’s Konner Oller in the 400, Lustre’s Prestyn Klatt in the 800, 1600 and 3200, Lustre’s Johnslee Pierre in the 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump, Saco’s Blaine Downing in the shot put and pole vault and Savage’s Zane Pilgeram in the high jump.

Divisional champions in the girls’ division were Savage’s Cambry Conradsen in the 100, 200 and 400, Scobey’s Cambrie Holum in the 800, Whitewater’s Shelbi LaBrie in the 1600, Scobey’s Mya Green in the 3200, Richey/Lambert’s Jolee Klempel in the 100-meter hurdles and long jump, Circle’s Kate Nasner in the 300-meter hurdles, Scobey’s Kaytie Aanstad in the shot put, Circle’s Madeline Moline in the discus, Circle’s Emma Murphy in the javelin, Hinsdale’s BaiLee McColly in the high jump, Savage’s Mylee Reuter in the pole vault and Richey/Lambert’s Brynne Hill in the triple jump.
