Cowboys Take Third Place At Richey/Lambert Track Meet


The Culbertson Cowboys accounted for 71 points to win third-place honors at the Richey/Lambert Invitational track meet on Thursday, April 10.
The top two boys’ team at the 16-team meet were Plentywood with 107 and Fairview with 94 points. Topping the girls’ standings were Circle with 87, Scobey with 76 and Turner with 58 points. Culbertson tallied two points in the girls’ division.
Highlighting the meet for Culbertson’s boys was the 400-meter relay team featuring Harrison Green, Ian Snyder, Bridger Salvevold and Reese Moon finishing first with a time of 45.40 seconds.
Brooks Solem placed second in the high jump by clearing 5-10, second in the javelin with a best of 15210, second in the 300-meter hurdles at 47.39 seconds and sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 37-6.
Plenny Williams earned second place in the discus with a mark of 134-4.
Reese Moon finished second in the 100 at 11.59 seconds and fifth in the 200 at 24.58 seconds.
Running to third-place finishes were Cal Steppler in the 3200 at 11:33.33 and Aden Drake in the 300-meter hurdles at 48.25.
The 1600-meter relay team featuring Drake, Green, Steppler and Mauricio Mena finished fourth with a time of 4:04.45. Gavin Deen took sixth in the shot put with a best of 39-1. Salvevold finished sixth in the 100 at 11.78.
Culbertson’s girls’ 1600-meter relay team featuring Rebekah Ellerkamp, Stella Fox, Bella Peterson and Serenity Wilbanks placed fifth with a time of 5:23.43.
