Culbertson returned to track action at the Elks Invitational in Glendive on Thursday, April 28.

The Cowgirls scored 14 points for 15th place at the meet.

The meet featured 36 teams and more than 800 athletes including those from the Class A ranks and North Dakota squads.

The top five girls’ squads were Williston with 89 points, Plentywood with 82, Scobey with 58, Baker with 40 and Savage with 37.2 points.

Topping the boys’ field were Williston with 151, Glendive with 56.83, Dickinson Trinity with 50, Plentywood with 43 and Billings Central with 41.

Culbertson’s Makena Hauge and Megan Granbois cleared 4-10 to tie for second place in the high jump.

Autumn Bergum finished sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 13.82 seconds.

Kayli Olson finished 10th in the 3200 at 13:40.70.

Culbertson’s girls’ 400-meter relay team featuring Olson, Destiny Thompson, Granbois and Bergum finished 10th with a time of 54.55 seconds.

Highlights for Culbertson’s boys included Aiden Perkins taking 10th in the discus at 118-0 and 10th in the shot put at 42-1.

Taking 11th were James Kirkaldie in the high jump, Payton Perkins in the javelin, Kyler Kempton in the discus and Bridger Salvevold in the 100.

The Culbertson Cowboys scored 87.5 points to take second place at the Whitewater/ Saco Invitational on Saturday, April 30.

Scobey’s boys won the meet with 128 points.

In the girls’ division, Culbertson placed sixth with 40 points. Scobey topped the field with 115 points followed by Plentywood with 109 points.

Culbertson’s boys came away with two first-place showings. Justice Bengochea earned first in the discus with a best of 123-10. Kyler Kempton took top honors in the javelin with a mark of 142-7.

Aiden Perkins took second in the discus at 122-7 and Kempton placed third at 117-10. Bengochea placed second in the shot put at 41-4. Also placing in the shot put were A. Perkins in third at 41-2, Payton Perkins in fourth at 41-0 and Kempton in fifth at 40-05.

James Kirkadlie cleared 5-4 for third place in the high jump and was sixth in the 1600 at 58.51. Kobe Nickoloff placed sixth in the javelin at 125-6, was sixth in the 1600 at 5:39.56, finished ninth in the 200 at 26.08 and took eighth in the long jump at 17-2. Dylan Gust earned sixth in the high jump at 5-0.

Bridger Salvevold finished third in the 100 with a time of 12.33 seconds. He was sixth in the 400 at 58.81 seconds. Mark Kirkaldie was 10th in the 800 at 2:32.14.

In the 3200, Wack was fourth at 13:43.21 and Zachary O’Neill took fifth at 14:40.62.

The boys’ 400-meter relay team of Wyatt Snyder, P. Perkins, Nickoloff and Salvevold placed second. The 1600-meter relay team of Mathew Wadsworth, J. Kirkaldie, Snyder and Salvevold finished fourth.

In the girls’ division, the 400-meter relay team of Destiny Thompson, Makena Hauge, Megan Granbois and Autumn Bergum finished first at 54.16 seconds. The 1600-meter relay team consisting of Thompson, Hauge, Kayli Olson and Megan Granbois finished fourth at 4:47.81.

Bergum finished second in the 100 at 13.88 seconds.

Placing fifth were Thompson in the 100 at 13.99 seconds, Granbois in the 200 at 30.07 and Olson in the 1600 at 6:16.24.

Granbois cleared 4-10 for fourth place and Hauge cleared 4-6 for seventh place in the high jump.

Bergum placed third in the long jump at 14-8 and sixth in the triple jump at 29-8.

Placing in the javelin were Ator in sixth at 85-6, Jazzmin Fugere in the javelin at 84-7 and Bergum in the javelin at 81-0. Thompson took eighth in the discus at 73-11. Perla Burciaga placed seventh in the shot put at 29-5 and Ator took ninth at 29-01. Olson finished seventh in the 3200 at 13:32.16 and Serenity Wilbanks took 10th in the 800 at

3:40.17.
