The Wolf Point School board received petitions signed by adult and students in support of boys’ basketball coach Troy Blount during its meeting on Monday, May 9.
Frank Benson, who is Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball coach and has a son on the boys’ team, presented the petition signed by more than 100 adults during the public comment portion of the meeting.

Roxanne Gourneau will represent District 2 on the Wolf Point School board for the next year.
In District 2, Jaronn Boysun and Roxanne Gourneau tied with 36 votes each during the May 3 election.
Incumbent Linda L. Hansen received 24 votes.
A recount board on Monday, May 9, determined the same results with Boysun and Gourneau tying with 36 votes each.

Between Peyton Summers, Ethan Blount and Kholby SpottedWolf, the Wolves accounted for 44 points in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs.
Summers, a sophomore, earned first in the 1600 with a time of 4:45.43 and first in the 3200 at 10:10.21.
Blount, a senior, finished second

The Bearcubs accounted for 35 points at the district meet.
Ackerman earned first place in the javelin with a best of 120-7, second in the discus with a mark of 101-7 and third in the shot put at 40-01.

She is a sophomore at Minot State University.
Nygard is a 2020 graduate of Wolf Point High School. During her career in Wolf Point, she placed seventh in the discus and 10th in the javelin during her junior season.
