Area Teams Ranked In First Poll

The Lustre Christian Lions are the top ranked team in Class C boys’ basketball, according to the first rankings of the season. The Lions are 6-0 for the season. The other top seven teams are Harlowton-Ryegate-Judith Gap, Centerville, Big Sandy, West Yellowstone, Manhattan Christian and Belt. Bainville, also 6-0 for the season, is ranked eighth in the poll. Avance, Hobbs Selected As Alternates For Shrine Game

Area football players were selected as alternates for the 76th edition of the Montana East-West Shrine Football Game. Wolf Point’s Juliun Benson was voted an alternate at cornerback for the East team. Benson was an All-Conference and All-State selection for the Wolves this season. County Reports 49 Active COVID Cases

Roosevelt County reported 49 active COVID cases as of Friday, Dec. 23. There have been 3,866 cases in the county. Roosevelt County Health Department hosts COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Wolf Point the first and third Thursdays of the month, and in Culbertson on the fourth Thursday. Average gasoline prices in Montana have fallen 3.8 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.97/g on Monday, Dec. 26, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 615 stations in Montana. Prices in Montana are 61.6 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 38.2 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
