Red Hawks Hold Off Poplar in Non-Conference Showdown


Froid/Lake’s boys’ basketball squad accounted for one of its best performances of the season to outscore Poplar, 57-55, at home on Friday, Feb. 3. A basket by Max Engelke and a three-pointer by Mason Dethman at the buzzer ended the half on a high note for the Red Hawks with a 30-19 lead. Five points by Dethman early in the third quarter helped Froid/Lake increase the advantage to 35-20.

Froid/Lake Earns League Victory Over Plentywood


The Froid/Lake Red Hawks traveled to Plentywood and came away with a key 41-40 District 2C boys’ basketball victory on Saturday, Feb. 4. The game was deadlocked at 31-31 after three quarters of play. The Bainville Bulldogs got rolling in the second half and captured a 59-51 boys’ basketball league victory in Circle on Saturday, Feb. 4. The Bulldogs trailed by an 18-15 half-time margin and 2418 early in the third quarter until turning the game around with nine straight points.
