Bainville High School student Kaelyn Romo recently was honored as a queen as she continues to enjoy her senior year at the school. Romo was crowned queen at the school’s Winterfest activities earlier this month. As vice president of the school’s student council, Romo was involved with the planning of the week’s fun activities. She is also a standout for Bainville’s Business Professionals

The Froid Town Council held its regular meeting Monday, Feb. 19, rescheduled from Feb. 12. Prior to the meeting, a public hearing was held seeking comment on a House Bill 355 project priority list. Following discussion, a list was created beginning with roof repairs to the town building. The list also includes street repairs and may include repairs to the sewer system. Public works director

Roosevelt County deputy county attorney Thomas Bleicher has filed in the 2024 election to determine the county’s attorney. Bleicher has served as deputy attorney since Jan. 3, 2023. He has remained in the office despite challenging times for the county including the removal of former county attorney Frank Piocos and the county’s court battles with former county attorney Janet Christoffersen.
