The Froid/Lake Red Hawks lost in double overtime against Savage, 70-60, during District 2C boys’ basketball action on Tuesday, Jan. 16. The Red Hawks fell behind by an 11-10 margin in the first quarter and 22-19 at the half. Savage struck for 13 points in the third quarter to increase their advantage to 22-19. Froid/Lake fought back with 26 points in the fourth quarter to pull even at 53-53.

Culbertson dropped both contests during basketball action in Plentywood on Saturday, Jan. 20. The Cowgirls fell by a 4222 margin. Culbertson led 8-7 at the end of the first quarter, but Plentywood moved ahead 20-13 at the half and 32-17 after three quarters of play. The hot-shooting Bainville Bulldogs earned a 56-36 girls’ basketball victory in Savage on Saturday, Jan. 20. Bainville led 12-6 at the end of the first quarter, and Savage trailed by only a 14-10 margin midway into the second quarter. The Warriors outscored Bainville by an 18-4 margin in the second period for a 24-12 half-time lead. The Bulldogs cut the margin to 32-23 in the third quarter.
