Cowboys Place Second After Upset Victories At Tournament


Culbertson’s great run at the District 2C boys’ basketball tournament came to an end as the Cowboys were defeated by Plentywood, 63-29, in the title game on Saturday, Feb. 17. Plentywood jumped out to a 16-7 lead in the first quarter and the Wildcats added 15 more points in the second period for a 31-15 half-time advantage. Froid/Lake’s boys’ basketball squad earned third place at the District 2C tournament in Sidney with a 42-36 victory over Savage on Saturday, Feb. 17. After leading by a 13-12 margin at the end of the opening quarter, the Red Hawks struck for 15 points in the second period for a 28-21 half-time lead.
