After Brockton defeated Savage, 72-43, in the District 2C boys’ basketball game on Saturday, several players immediately jumped on top of Coach John Nygard to celebrate. Lustre Christian’s boys’ basketball squad posted an 86-28 victory over Frazer in loser-out action at the District 3C tournament on Friday. The Lions earned a 29-3 lead in the first quarter en route to the tournament win. After a 2-2 deadlock, the Lions ran off 21 straight points. Two baskets by Prestyn Klatt started the streak. Lustre’s girls’ basketball team placed fourth at the District 3C tournament in Glasgow. The Lions fell to North Country, 56-26, on Saturday in the third-place game. North Country jumped out to an 18-5 lead in the first quarter and held a 24-7 halftime advantage. The Mavericks increased the margin to 43-12 in the third quarter.
