Teams Win Honors At Governor’s Cup

The team consisting of Owen Wilcox of Billings and Zelk Gordon of Belgrade came away with top honors from the 2026 Montana Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament at Fort Peck during the weekend.

Wilcox and Gordon finished with a total weight of 106.78 pounds including 58.28 pounds on the first day.

Placing second was the Valley City, N.D., team of Jayden Wendel and Brent Wendel with a total weight of 106.06 pounds.

Earning third was the Washington state team of Jeremy Siefken and Tyler French at 105.78 pounds.

Jackson Oberg, Rapid City, S.D., and Chad Halverson, Devils Lake, N.D., placed fourth at 105.58 pounds including 55.87 pounds on the first day.

Jordan’s Brem Phipps and Townsend’s Chris McFadden earned fifth place at 104.61 pounds.

The team of Wolf Point’s Kris Keller and Coldeon Eimers of Pukwana, S.D., placed 16th at 92.24 pounds including 53.29 pounds on the first day.

The tournament featured 155 teams.
