Bigger Sky Kids Offers Adjusted Program


Bigger Sky Kids in Wolf Point has updated their after-school offerings to stay in line with Wolf Point School District attendance schedules. BSK sponsors after-school, art-based instruction and provides a safe place for children to participate in program activities. According to program director Barbara Olson, scheduled program offerings are moving forward with some adjustments due to the COVID-19

Native Children’s Trauma Center Funds Nurse


Nurse practitioner Karan Harkness of Fayette, Ala., is currently assisting the health department in Wolf Point with immunizations and COVID-19 related case investigations. Harkness is working under the supervision of the health department with funding from the National Native Children’s Trauma Center in Missoula. She told the Northern Plains Independent that she has been in the area since January.

Karli McGowan was raised in the Wolf Point area and attended Wolf Point High School. She taught previously for Wolf Point schools from 2009-2015 before taking a position at Fort Peck Community College from 2015-2019.
