Heavy rainfall up to 4 inches caused flash flooding in western Valley County over the past week. The calendar of powwow celebrations for 2023 on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation includes six weekends in area communities: Frazer, Brockton, Wolf Point, Poplar and Fort Kipp. Poplar Indian Days Labor Day Powwow is set for Sept. 1-3 at American Legion Park on the north side of town. Wolf Point school board officials were notified on Friday, May 26, that David Perkins has tentatively accepted the position as the school district’s new superintendent. After public interviews on Wednesday, May 17, Wolf Point trustees unanimously agreed to offer Perkins a salary of $130,000. Perkins has been the superintendent in Custer for 10 years.
