There will be a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. at the Lustre EMB Church on April 3, with Pastor Frank Lenihan speaking. Each year the community churches gather for this special service, with the pastors trading the years they speak. It’s a solemn start to the very special Easter Sunday celebrations. Friday was a beehive of activity in Lustre as LCHS hosted the 61st annual Schmeckfest. A

Track Athletes Score At Season Opening Meet


Wolf Point, Lustre Christian and Poplar opened their track seasons on a high note with strong showings in Glasgow on Saturday, March 28. The top three teams in the boys’ division were Glasgow with 123 points, Lustre Christian with 78 points and Wolf Point with 69 points. Poplar took fifth with 41 points. Wrestlers Win Titles At Montana Open


Cali Gorder and Caydee Gorder each earned championships at the Montana Open Wrestling Tournament during the weekend. Cali Gorder claimed the title at 95 pounds. She won two of her three matches on pins. Caydee Gorder was the champion at 98 pounds. She earned victories by margin of 10-1 and 7-0. Local wrestlers placing second were Knox Spotted Bird at 165 pounds and Renlee Archambault

Commissioners Commit To Purchase Of Armory


The Roosevelt County commissioners approved a commitment to purchase the Culbertson Readiness Center and organizational maintenance shop, which are located in the former National Guard Armory. Commissioners approved $1.085 million for the purchase, but they are hopeful that the governor would approve some state funding and that the city of Culbertson will also provide funds for the acquisition.
